Mounting, Lamination & Presentation Services
We offer a wide range of options for the presentation of your final prints. Materials include archival Foamcore, Gatorboard or Gatorfoam, Sintra, Dibond, Aluminum and fine Plywood.
We can install a floating cleated box frame to the back of the mounted print if your final pieces will be hung directly onto the wall. We love custom jobs, so if there is a service or substrate you do not see listed here, please get in touch for a custom tailored estimate for your project.
Normal turnaround is 1-2 weeks. Please Note: While we always try to return your job ASAP, actual turnaround time depends upon quantity, sizes, and current work in house. Please call for scheduling if your job or project requires a quicker turnaround. Rush services are available. We only mount prints that are created with our Studio.
Please call 415-558-9113 or fill out the general estimate form with your job details for pricing on mounting services.
Excellent for prints that need a backing before going into frames. Foamcore is an economical acid free solution for mounting. Because Foamcore tends to have a curl or bow to the material, as well as being a soft material, we do not recommend using this for prints that will not be installed in a frame. Foamcore is available in 3/16" and 1/2" off white. Non-archival Foamcore is available as well in 3/16" and 1/2" bright white.
4-ply Museum Board
An excellent option for prints that need a backing before going into frames and is one of the first choices for framers, museums and collectors. We do not recommend using Museum Board for prints that will not be installed in a frame. Museum Board is available in 4-ply white, with additional colors or tones available for custom order.
Similar to Foamcore, but much more rigid. Gatorfoam is comprised of extruded polystyrene foam bonded between two layers of wood-fiber veneer. It is suitable for shorter term displays because of it's rigid characteristics. We can install a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for an easy float mount solution. Gatorfoam comes in 3/18" and 1/2" white or black.
This is more of a rigid plastic/PVC based product that has a very smooth and durable surface. Similar to Gatorfoam we can install a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for an easy float mount solution. Sintra comes in 3mm and 6mm white or black. Additional colors are available for custom order.
A very popular aluminum composite material made up of two pre-painted sheets of thin aluminum with a solid black polyethylene core. One of the flattest panels on the market, this material won't bow over time, provides excellent durability and weighs much less than aluminum panel. Similar to Gatorboard and Sintra, we can install a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for an easy float mount solution. Dibond comes in 2mm or 4mm thickness.
A thin and sturdy mounting substrate that has a wonderful gallery feel to it. Using Aluminum provides a very polished look to the final presentation of an image. Aluminum panels are custom ordered to size and are subject to a minimum charge. Because of the weight, we recommend installing a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for a frameless presentation.
We use 3/4" Birch plywood, trimmed precisely with a fine tooth blade for an excellent edge finish. Plywood has it's own unique feel as a mounting substrate that sets it apart from other options. Like Aluminum, we recommend installing a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for a frameless presentation.
A premium mounting material used for face-mounting prints, Plexiglas acrylic is smooth and flat surface. For face-mounting, we recommend using a suitable backing material such as Dibond or Sintra to protect the back of the print and also recommend installing a wood floating box frame on the back with a cleat for a frameless presentation. Prints mounted behind Plexiglas are simply gorgeous!
