Project:
To prepare for an upcoming exhibit of his work, Michael wanted to show high-quality Giclée reproductions alongside of his original pieces to provide an alternative way to purchase his fine art. Each reproduction was printed onto a canvas material, then stretched and coated by Michael to give a close resemblance to his originals. The results were not only beautiful, but pushed the boundaries of what could be accomplished with fine art digital printing.

ALB Designs, an architectural firm in San Rafael, utilized Hanson Digital's drum scanning and printing services for an editorial submission and a portfolio update. Needing the quality of this project to set their submissions apart from the rest, we drum scanned 4x5 original transparencies, digitally retouched various images, finely tuned the color, and then created a few sets of final prints on a beautiful semi-matte photo based paper stock.

Project:
East Bay-based artist Jo Ellen Lezotte brought in her original watercolor paintings to have full-size fine art Giclée reproductions and fine art 5" x 7" postcards created. First, we created reproduction-grade 4x5 transparencies of the oversized original artwork. Next, we created high-resolution drum scans, and then output the final reproductions onto an Archival Rag Stock. For the 5" x 7" postcards, we imposed several images up on a large sheet and trimmed the final cards to size, allowing Jo Ellen to pass out these mini reproductions to prospective Clients and Galleries as well as use them for stationery cards.

San Francisco-based photographer Sharon Risedorph came to Hanson Digital to reproduce images from her Abandoned Buildings series that were to be displayed during Open Studios 2004. The originals consisted of high quality 4x5 transparencies and negatives that were drum scanned and then printed, using both our UltraChrome and QuadTone Giclée printing processes onto a fine art Archival Photo Rag stock.

Project:
Fine Art and Commercial photographer Jeff Zaruba wanted to digitally reproduce in quantity traditional Silver Gelatin prints from his fine art collection. Being a master black & white printer, Jeff was not only very concerned about retaining the detail and clarity of the originals, but also - and most importantly - the artistic integrity of the traditional black & white prints. Being able to work closely with Hanson Digital to achieve these goals was paramount for this process. Jeff's original 11" x 14" traditional prints were drum scanned directly, enhanced & optimized for the QuadTone printing process, and then output to an Archival Photo Rag Stock.
